About Team Tony
On Saturday July 13th 2019 three brothers, Ian, Craig and Daniel Trembirth will set off on a 100km trek around the Peak District to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation in memory of their father, Tony, who passed away in March 2004 at the age of 54.
He would have been 70 this year.
Everyone who knew Dad knew him as someone who loved his football, loved his running and loved his family. To lose him at such an early age was a massive shock to everyone who knew him and the three of us wanted to do something to remember him by and help try and stop others from going through the same thing.
About the Trek
We start from Bakewell showground at 8:20am on Saturday July 13th. We walk a 50km loop to the North of Bakewell which takes us close to Chatsworth House, Tideswell and Taddington. We'll be back in Bakewell sometime in the evening. We then take on the Southern loop, part of which will be in the dark, and are hopeful of finishing around lunchtime on Sunday 14th July.
If you're not too sure about metric measurements, 100km is 62.1 miles which is equivelent to:
- Walking from Pride Park Stadium to Old Trafford.
- Walking from The City Ground to Elland Road.
- Walking from Anfield to Old Trafford, and back.
(which, as we type this, seems a long way).
It's an organised event with about 3,000 people taking part. Most, the lightweights, will be doing 25km or 50km but we'll be going the full distance. Don't worry though, we've counted 12 pubs and a brewery on the route!

About the main picture
As we said, Dad loved his football but it was rare for the four of us to attend a game together. The three of us support different teams, which didn't really help matters. However, in September 2003, the four of us visited Old Trafford to see England beat Liechtenstein 2:0 in a Euro qualifier.
The following March we all met again at Pride Park Stadium, as a family friend was playing for Rotherham United against Derby. For Dad, a lifetime ambition had been met, as he said on the way to the ground that Saturday, "At last I've got all my lads to a Derby game." The following Tuesday he passed away.
Despite the rivalries, football bought us together but we're hoping those rivalries might spur people on in our fundraising efforts.
Update - 5th June
We're back
We've been a bit quiet recently here but have been busy training - each week's "long" work is now further than a marathon!
We're back now to make a lot of noise and raise more money though - be warned. We have a start time too, we'll start at 8:20am from the Bakewell Showground. We'll have times of when and where you'll be able to cheer us on, it'll be great to see you.
We are also planning a "Wanderers Return" event for the Sunday evening to, hopefully, celebrate our success. Full details soon.
Eat Cakes - Raise money
A huge, massive thanks to Queenies Tea Rooms in Quarndon, Derby, who will be donating 10% of the sales of a different cake between now and our Trek in July.
We will be visiting Queenies soon to help raise some funds and also get some provisions for our Trek!
Making a donation - Three brothers, three "teams" to support!
Because of our love of football, you'll find a distinctive football theme to how you can donate. We thought it might be interesting to see which team could raise the most money based on who our family and friends support.
No pressure!
Derby are currently leading so we need Forest and Liverpool fans to help us out!
How To Donate!

Hey, this is football! Just click on the person representing the team you dislike the least!
We'll be covering the costs of entry fees, equipment, supplies and maybe a beer on route and everything you give will go to the Heart Foundation.
